Healing, transforming and renewing
The word of God is alive and powerful
Heb 4:12: “For the word of God is alive, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
How you perceive the word of God is so important. If you perceive it as a novel, a story book or something for entertainment, it will always be a novel, story book and something entertaining.
But if you perceive and read it as something alive and powerful, it will always be alive and powerful in your life.
This is the only thing that makes a difference between powerful Christians and powerless, sick looking Christians.
These people who don’t perceive the word of God as something powerful are always subject to sicknesses, heartbreaks and confusion.
And if something goes wrong in their life, they always have that one sad gospel song they turn to. They play it again and again and listen to it while their tears are flowing, they look heartbroken and helpless. The moment you hear them playing such a song, you just know this fellow is going through a tough situation.
After the situation is gone, they finally normalize and start doing things in their usual way.
But that’s not your life. Read the word of God knowing that it is alive and powerful, even when bad things happen, don’t sit back in regrets, frustrated and confused. No, take the word of God and read it believing that something great is happening and you will see it happening.
Just read it, believe it and declare it over your life because this is not just the word, it is the sword, the bullet, and the missile of the spirit. It’s what your spirit needs to fight it’s battle. So when you’re reading it, you are equipping your spirit with the best weapons and before long, the situation changes itself. Hallelujah.
That’s why in Ephesians chapter 6, when Paul was explaining the harmer of the Lord, he described the word of God as the sword of the spirit.
Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
A Christian who wakes up and starts doing his daily duties without the word of God is like a man who goes to war without a sword. Without an instrument of warfare. He just goes plain. And that one is bound to be defeated because he’s taking his spirit in the battlefield without a weapon.
But when you read the word, you become charged with something that is alive and powerful and every obstacle before your path starts to fall off. This is our life. Hallelujah.
Admonition
Paul understood that the word of God is alive and powerful, that’s why he did more powerful deeds in the new testament than any of the apostles. In fact most of the books in the new testament were written by him. He established and strengthened more churches than any other apostles.
Even when he was in prison, he was still unstoppable. hallelujah.
He knew the power in the word that’s why he wrote in Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
This is the kind of mindset we should all be having. If the word is powerful enough to bring salvation, then it can cure sicknesses, open closed doors and establish relationships. We need to believe this. Hallelujah
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank you because your word is true and it carries the power to heal, deliver and transform our lives. No force can overcome it. Even as i read now, I believe that closed doors are opening, sicknesses are leaving and greater things are happening in our lives. Hallelujah
