Instead, he is patient with you, because he does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants all to turn away from their sins. (2 Peter 3:9)We are living in the time that was prophesied by Apostle Peter  in 2 Peter 3:3 “First of all, you must understand that in the last days some people will appear whose lives are controlled by their own lusts. They will make fun of you ⁴ and will ask, “He promised to come, didn’t he? Where is he? Our ancestors have already died, but everything is still the same as it was since the creation of the world!” This group of people are called scoffers, other translations call them mockers. According to the Cambridge dictionary, a soffer is someone who laughs and speaks about a person or idea in a way that shows that the person or idea is stupid or silly.So in otherwords, this group of people joke and make fun of the word of God because they think it’s some sort of stupid or silly idea.That’s why they be like, “he promised to come, where is he now?” They are trying to tell you that the word of God is not true.These are the kind of people who think that they know it all, they are wise, they have the body, the beauty, the money. They have all they need in life and so there is no need for God. So all they think of is how to make their lives more pleasurable!Even Apostle Paul prophesied about them in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:² For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, ³ unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, ⁴ traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,⁵ having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!”They think they have it all. What is interesting is that there is nothing they are doing that is unique, they’re not catching us by surprise because the holy scriptures already prophesied about them. HallelujahTo them, they think they are wise, so the idea of godliness is a conservative and silly  idea. They assume it’s a lie, that’s why they ask, “He promised to come back, where is he now?”. They are trying to let you know that the scriptures are not true.But Apostle Peter went on to explain that, God is not slow in what he promised, but doesn’t want anyone to perish, but he is giving them time to repent and come to the knowledge of truth. Hallelujah!As believers, we are called to do the work of Christ within this time, calling men to the kingdom and teaching to them. To God be the glory! 🙏 Prayerheavenly Father, I thank you for the gift of life you have given me through your son Jesus who died to redeem my soul. For you are indeed merciful and good. Your favor fills my life and your glory over shadows my weaknesses. May your holy name be glorified for ever and ever until you come again in the last hour.
