      Walking in the Spirit

Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

You know, many people have misinterpreted that scripture for so long and it has led to their own destruction simply because they failed to read it fully. And I will show you how they read it here.

One day, I met a very good bone again man, he was a very nice person and very active in church activities. But there were certain things he was doing which were contrary to the way of Christ, and so he was misleading himself and some church members.

I had gotten some vision about him, concerning what he was doing and I was told to tell him to change his ways(this is how much God loves us, even when we’re doing wrong, he simply tells us to change our ways). I was even told where I would find him because I didn’t know him before.

To cut the story short, I found him and sat with him for a few mins. When I told him what I saw, he admitted that indeed it was true what I saw. But one thing he refused  admitting was that what he was doing would lead him to destruction. And that is where he pulled out that scripture, Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.” And that is how he was reading it and stopping.

But then I was like, let’s read and complete it. So it continued “….who walked not after the flesh but after the spirit.”

And this is where his eyes opened. And he started narrating to me how he used to live a very humble and holy life not until a friend convinced him that a Christian life is not supposed to be boring.

He also talked about how he was convinced of John 3:16 and so on.

But you see, what most people forget is that “to be in Christ is one thing – meaning to be born again” and “to walk in Christ – meaning to walk in the spirit or after the spirit, is also another thing”

You can be in Christ yet not walking in Christ. But running after the things of the flesh. And those are the people Jesus said in the last days, many shall say to me Lord,  Lord,

Matthew 7:22-23 “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’

²³ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

So you have to be in both, be in Christ and also walk in Christ, meaning to walk in the spirit, following the divine nature, not carnality, and vanity of the flesh.

      Romans 8:5-8

⁵ For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

      So you can judge yourself by what you are always interested in. Many Christians today are in Christ, they accepted Christ in their lives but they are not walking in the spirit, and Romans say;

Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. ⁸ Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. ⁸ So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

      Admonition

      Galatians 5:16-26

¹⁶ I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. ¹⁷ For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. ¹⁸ But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, ²¹ envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ²³ gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. ²⁴ And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

²⁵ If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. ²⁶ Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

      The Lord is with you!

      Prayer

Heavenly Father, I thank you because you have made this known to us, and we declare that from today, we shall not just be in Christ but also walk in Christ, following the divine nature. I thank you for uplifting me from glory to glory in your son Jesus, Amen!
